Error setting send as permission Exchange 2007
I'm having trouble setting the send as permission on a specific DL in my org. Here is the command I'm running and the output:
[PS] C:\Documents and Settings\admin>Add-ADPermission -id corp.domain.com/Users/ar -user "Ayesha" -ExtendedRights "Send as"
Add-ADPermission : corp.domain.com/Users/ar was not found. Please make sure you have typed it correctly.
At line:1 char:17+ Add-ADPermission <<<< corp.domain.com/Users/ar -user "Ayesha" -ExtendedRights "Send as"
When I don't use the CN I get:
[PS] C:\Documents and Settings\admin.kinetix>Add-ADPermission -id ar -user "Ayesha"-ExtendedRights "Send as"
Add-ADPermission : There are multiple objects matching the identity "ar". Please specify an unique value.
At line:1 char:17+ Add-ADPermission <<<< ar -user "Ayesha" -ExtendedRights "Send as"
corp.domain.com/Users/ar is the correct CN of the DL
Please help!

Check you have "Allow inheritable permission enabled on this mailbox"...Mostly this will be unchecked and when you check it ...this will start to work..
I face the similar issue in my past...

Hi
Please run the below command first
Get-Mailbox -identity ar
If it works, then try
Get-Mailbox -identity ar | Add-ADPermission -user "Ayesha"-AccessRights ExtendedRight -ExtendedRights "send as"
Hope it helps

Hi
The error shows that user "ar" is not exist. Could you please double confirm in your exchange have a mailbox user called ar?
You can find via EMC or ADUC.

Tried
this.

That worked!
I'm glad it worked, but wish I knew why setting through the POSH did not. Thanks for your help.
