Errors when creating rules
Hi All,I have created a series of rules for filtering email into different folders. When using Outlook 2007 / 2003 as normal clients not connected to exchange, I am able to set unlimited rules. Now when I set rules when connected to exchange I get the following error message.*One or more rules cannot be uploaded to Microsoft Exchange and have been deactivated. This could be because some of the parameters are not supported or there is insufficient space to store all of your rules*Now I know the rule parameters are correct, so how can I increase the space required to store the rules?Regards,Kevin

Hello Kevin,
If mailbox is on Exchange 2003 then 32kb is the size limit to store rules in mailbox which is by design and can not be increased. You may need to create client-side rules instead of server rules.
Some rules are disabled, and you receive an error message when you try to enable them after you upgrade to Outlook 2007 or to Outlook 2003
If mailbox is on Exchange 2007 then 64kb isby default size limit and you can increase it up to 256kb by below command.
Set-Mailbox UserName -RulesQuota 256KB

Hi Amit,I have tried setting up client side rules, but when I click okay I get the same message as I stated in my original post. So seems very strange.I have workstations using Outlook 2007 / 2003 connected to SBS Exchange.Regards,Kevin

Hi Kevin,
Delete some rules until this error goes, then re-create those rules and while creating it in Step 1: Select Condition(s) select on this machine only along with your rule condition.
