Errors with Lync 2013 after upgrade from Office 2010 to Office 2013.

Hello

I've had this occur on two Windows 7 computers after upgrading Office 2010 to Office 2013 and if it continues, won't be performing any more upgrades, it will have to be all fresh installs.  Basically, after upgrading to Office 2013, Outlook/Excel/Word, etc all work well except for Lync 2013.  When you run that program, it goes into an Office configuration wizard and Office install wizard after which, it shuts the software down stating you must restart the software for it to work.  Open Lync 2013 and it runs again.

If you hit the cancel buttons, forcing it to stop, it gives this error:  "Microsoft Office cant find your license information for this application.  A repair attempt was unsuccessful or cancelled.  Microsoft Office will not exit."

Lync will run after you cancel it out, but if you reboot the computer or close down Lync and attempt to reopen it, you get the configuration/installation wizards again in a vicious cycle.  Does anyone have any ideas to fix this?

thanks!

Update:

Tried removing Office and reinstalling using Microsoft's Fix-it program (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2739501/en-us), to no avail.  Could really use some help with this.

thanks!

Another update:

Tried copying over the AppData for a user from a working 2013 installation, this didn't work either.  It still brings up the configuration wizard.

Seems that you've upgrade the Office from old version, that is possible that the old add-ins, such as Outlook add-ins, which is not compatible with Lync 2013.

I suggest that we disable all of the add-ins and macros and then launch Lync to test if the issue still persists. Thanks.

After hours of digging and manually imaging a computer, I have found the problem.  Now I need a fix.  Apparently if you change the compatibility mode to make it run like it would on a Windows Vista SP2 machine (so the icon stays small in the taskbar instead of having the Lync icon huge and mixed in with the other icons in your taskbar, Lync blows up and keeps re-running configuration wizards.  If you leave it in native Windows 7 mode, works fine.

Ideas?

Oh, forgot to add, using the compatibility mode on a Windows 8 machine works just fine.  It's only on the Windows 7 machines that I'm running into this.
