EventID 2114 - MSExchangeADTopologyservice
Hi
On my Exchange 2007 Server I receive regularly (1-2 weeks) the eventid 2114 - MSExchangeADTopologyservice:Process MSEXCHANGEADTOPOLOGYSERVICE.EXE (PID=1760). Topology discovery failed, error 0x80040952 (LDAP_LOCAL_ERROR (Client-side internal error or bad LDAP message)). Look up the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) error code specified in the event description. To do this, use Microsoft Knowledge Base article 218185, "Microsoft LDAP Error Codes." Use the information in that article to learn more about the cause and resolution to this error. Use the Ping or PathPing command-line tools to test network connectivity to local domain controllers.
Exchange works, there is no interrupt.
When I detect this event I always run dcdiag /s:DomainController, but there is no error. I have to say that mostly I detect this event about 1 hour later, I guess thats the reason why dcdiag /s cannot find any error.
Thanks in advance for every suggestion.Peter

Hi,
Is there any other error or warning events about "Event Source: MSExchange ADAccess"?
If you close the EMC, and open it again, is there any error?

Hello Frank
Thanks for replying.
No, there are absolutely no other errors or warnings.
Until now I have never been on the system, when this error occured. The Exchange Server is monitored by SCOM an normaly I receive the information from our support organization. This error also occurs during the day, but the users never complained about email is not working, or Outlook has no connection to the server.
RegardsPeter
