Event ID 1019, 1023, 1036 and red x on POP3 Virtual Server
I am new to IT so here it goes.Using Exchange 2003 SP2 and SBS 2003 SP1.I am getting Event IDs 1019, 1023 and 1036 recently (I have not seen them the last 6 months). I have a red x on my POP3 virtual server. Some of the threads say to restart the POP3 service, however, I do not see the POP3 service in Administrative Tools > Services and I have never seen it there as far as I know. One change that I did make recently was to install the tarpit registry change. I had a lot of trouble restarting the SMTP service but finally used taskkill /PID 1580 /f to kill and restart it. Please let me know if you need more information but you will have to be specific as I am fairly new.Thank you.

Oh that is very embarrasing!! Thanks, I put it on automatic (it was disabled) and started it. Is that all I need to do? Thanks again.Susie

Does it show as good in ESM? If so, you should be good to go! I suppose one of your pop3 users could test as well. :)
