Ex Server 2007 is compatible with Server 2008 datacenter?
I have3 questions: 1. Is Ex 2007 compatible with Windows server 2008 datacenter? 2. We have only one exchange server 2007 SP1. How to move it from Enterprise server 2003 to datacenter server 2008 3. How is the performance if we install in virtual server using virtualization. Thx

1. Yes, if you have the SP1. I was in trouble of install the Exchange 2007RTM version on 2008 and later to realise that only Exchange 2007SP1 support 2008. The RTM version of Exchange2007cannot be installed on WindowsServer2008. However, Exchange2007 SP1 is supported for installation on WindowsServer2008. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb232170(EXCHG.80).aspx 2. You have to install Datacenter server 2008 on a new server then install Exchange 2007 SP1 on it. After that migrate the database over. Sound simple right, in theory yes, in practical, I dont know coz I haven't do it yet. I will do it next week. One of the best document I have found on internet: http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/Transitioning-Exchange-2000-2003-Exchange-Server-2007-Part1.html 3. I really want to know the answer too because I will install my on a ESX VMWare server. Hope someone can give us the answer for it. enz
