Excange 2013 CU2: OWA and ECP accepting FBA while configured for Basic Authentication

I am running a single Exchange 2013 server with Basic Authentication enabled on the OWA and ECP virtual directories. This worked fine with CU1 installed. After upgrading to CU2 I noticed that I get the FBA login page when I try to visit OWA or ECP.

Just double-checked the authentication settings in EAC and EMS:

PS D:\Scripts> Get-OwaVirtualDirectory | fl forms*,basic*

FormsAuthentication : False
BasicAuthentication : True

PS D:\Scripts> Get-EcpVirtualDirectory | fl forms*,basic*

FormsAuthentication : False
BasicAuthentication : True

Hi,

there are differences in the Exchange 2013 RTM CU2 implementation:

Silent redirection is the default behavior in Exchange 2013, meaning that if FBA is enabled on source and target OWA virtual directories, the redirection will also be a single sign-on event. Refered from:

Thank you for your reply. I have a single server and FBA is not enabled. Still I get a FBA logon screen when I visit the url, a Basic authentication popup is what I expected.

You're not presenting the server to the internet via Threat Management Gateway (TMG) are you?

Nope, no TMG or other reverse proxy. I think this is a bug, spoke to someone else who saw this with CU1 too. I could reapply the OwaVirtualDirectory settings but did not do that yet to be able to report the behaviour.
