Excel 2010 - can't print double sided

Our environment is setup with Windows XP SP3/Office 2010/Windows 2003 Server.  The printer that we print to is a multfunctional Ricoh.  We are able to print other documents in other applications double sided but not in excel 2010.  It doesn't give any kind of error, it just doesn't do it.

Is there a setting or something?  Please advise.

Thanks,
Peggy

Hi,

When you print in Excel 2010, click Print, then Print Properties, there is an option “print on both sides”, have you selected “Yes”?

Yes, I did choose that function as well as the "duplex" function in the printer properties.  I didn't mention this previously, however, not sure if it makes a difference but I am trying to print a workbook of 8 pages double sided.

Hi,

If you print multiple sheets, you need to repeat the steps to enable the deplex settings for every sheet in the workbook.

If you print multiple pages in one sheet, remember to choose page X to page X.

Hi -

This is what I do to print a workbook.. under "settings" I choose "Print Workbook" then scroll down and choose "Print on Both Sides" and hit "Print."  Is there anything else that I am missing?

Thanks,
Peggy

Hello,

Have you installed any third-party add-ins in Excel?

Try to start Excel in safe mode: Press the ctrl key when you start the Excel program.

Can you print now?

If the problem does not occur in the safe mode, this issue might be related to some third-party add-ins in the Office program, we can try to disable them. Normally, you could do the following to disable the conflict add-ins in your Office program:

Disable add-ins
***************************
 a) Click File menu, click Options >  Add-in, click Go button in the Manage: Com-in Add.
 b) Check if there are any add-ins, clear the checkbox to disable them.
 c) Close the Office program and restart it.
 d) Add one check back each time to the list of Add-In, restart the Office program, and repeat the above procedure. Once the issue reappears again, we can determine which add-in causes this problem and then disable it.

Hi Sally-

I apologize, I will try this and let you know.

That is strange how you cannot just print double sided after just choosing "print both sides'.

Thanks,
Peggy

Peggy,

I'm sure this has been mentioned before in this thread, but I recently found the fix to this dilemma. Make sure that the Entire Workbook is selected, and that EACH SHEET, or EACH PAGE is set to print on both sides. If one or more sheets is set to print to one side, the whole document seems to print that way. Hope this helps!

Peggy,

You seem to have found a solution to a problem that I have yet to resolve on my on or with the help of MS Support.  Could you please tell me what you did to get your Excel Workbook to Print double sided.

#1 - Please keep in mind that posting a question to a thread started some 2+ years ago is not likely to be the best way to find an answer

#2 - There are 2 answers in this thread which have provided possible solutions - the most recent being from <adm-rebel> on Oct 12th, 2012 so is your question based on having tried everything posted and it still doesn't work? If yes, any follow-up questions should be posed in the Excel forum since this is not Outlook related providing complete details for maximum chance of getting a working solution
