I've been trying to find a solution for this problem ever since I switched to Excel 2010 about a year ago, but no success.

Here's the problem.  I have spreadsheets (in xlsx format) with hyperlinks created so that a user can open other spreadsheets (also in xlsx format) saved on the same network drive by simply clicking on the hyperlinks.  However, the names of the chart tabs (not the chart title, it's the name of the sheet as these charts are located on separated sheets) would be changed to some default names such as "Chart1", "Chart2", "Chart3", etc. when the file is opened by clicking on a hyperlink on another spreadsheet.  I did not have this issue when I was using Excel 2003.
