Hi there
I updated my laptop to a Lenovo Z50 with i7 processor and 16 ram so that I could work with and build spreadsheet models quicker than in my lower spec machine. I also purchased Office 365 and therefore have Excel 2013 compared with Excel 2010 on my older machine.
I now find that when I delete a cell in a workbook with several thousand rows and lookups it starts processing and takes ages to finish calculating the workbook. Doing the same thing in Excel 2010 on a relatively basic desktop machine did it in about 10% of the time.
Having looked through the forums I have updated my graphic card drivers, disabled unnecessary animations, disabled the hardware graphics acceleration in Excel. These have improved the performance but my new machine is still really really slow.
Is this a known issue in Excel 2013, as a subscriber to office 365, can I downgrade to Excel 2010?
Any help would be appreciated.
Regards
Phil
