I am running Windows 8.1

I use Kaspersky as my antivirus system and fire wall

Macros which have always worked have now failed to run and new macro's can no longer be created. When I try to do this the system crashes, try's to recover but fails.

All other Excel functions appear to be working OK

How do I resolve this problem.

Have you made any changes (e.g. install product updates) to your system/Office installation recently? Did you receive any error message?

Actually, we have noticed that a security update released on December 2014 will prevent relative macros from working properly. Probably, you might want to have a check and see if this is the case for you.
