Excel links to Word do not update automatically
I have created links from an Excel cell to a Word document. I copied the Excel cell, and in Word did paste special, paste link, unformatted text.  The link is created in Word with no problem.  When I look at the link in Word with linked worksheet object, links I can see that the link type is an Excel worksheet and update method is automatic.  The problem is that the link does not update automatically when I change the field in Excel. I have to go back to links, select the one or ones I want and run update now.  All the links change at that point and Word matches Excel.  Is there another setting I'm missing to get the link to change automatically whenever the cell in Excel changes?  I'm using Office 2013 and Win7, all 64 bit.
