Hi G North my name is Micaela Goytia I work at microsoft my allies is t-micgoy and I in desperate need of your help. I visited a client and told him he could edit cells in excel online and protect them. When I told him this I was referring to doing them in Excel and then publishing them in Online, however he understood a completely different thing and bought O365, migrating form GOOGLE BELEVING he could use Excel online for this functionality.. He migrated 70 accounts from Google and now is really angry that O365 doesn't allow this feature and i a in a really bigg mess!!! Trying to figure out a solution at 2am in my country...I been doing some research and found missed throughs on the matter as tecnet says definite no..however do you have an alternative or could manage an alternative with ALL THE EXPERTISE you have for me to figure out for this client.. I am not a technical role and this is really sad for me and hard to absorb since he said in his last email he would move to Google again..
The worst part is that the client can't used the installed version of Excel 2013 since he hasn't synced with active directory.. or something like that.. I couldn't fully understand this part..
Please please please you are my last hope and resort. any tips, advice, or comment on Excel Online and this functionality would be grate.. in case this isn't the right method please contact me through lync!
