Exch07 Performance depending on cache mode?
I'm fairly new to Exchange and setup a server for a local company with Outlook 2007 on an Exchange 2007 server. Under non-cached mode some users will complain of "slow email", but if they are switched to cache mode they praise me for a great product. It appears that users with large amounts of data experience this slow connectivity when in non-cached mode, but why exactly? In non-cached mode I thought you sustain your connection at all times, but in cache mode you sync with the server at particular times. This syncing would seem to cause more slowdown than always having a connection.Bandwidth isn't a problem for them. They have a 3mbps connection that only comes close to peaking when I convert a user by importing their POP3 pst file. Can someone please explain the mechanics between the two and which configuration they would recommend?
