Is an internal user or external sending an email from the internet? Do you have an spam filter or virus scanner as an SMTP gateway? If the sender is an internal user then search for "X-MS-Has-Attach: yes" under header . If it is coming for the internet then check for Antivirus/Antispam policy settings. This is a only option which you can have a look for . Or if you wann test and is for one user only then send the email from your account inlcuding his/her external email account ( hotmail, yahoo.com) and then you can check whether attachment is going through or not. thank for the reply, Email send from external. Virus scanner at front end not detect any attachment with virus. I tried to used Message tracking for exch 2003 and the best can do is view the sender/recipient and the subject line without showing any email with attachment included. Thank you.jaie

OK here can you do a small test , can you ask user to send an email to your organization email address and to the your external account like yahoo etc etc and then check whether therr are you able to get the attachment or not ? will get to know if the attachment is dropping at organization or might be not getting the attachmet on external as well. You will need to query the store using the 2003 api's Exoledb or webdav. mailbox attachment auditing script (2003) http://gsexdev.blogspot.com/2005/08/mailbox-attachment-auditing-script.htmlJames Chong MCITP | EA | EMA; MCSE | M+, S+ Security+, Project+, ITIL msexchangetips.blogspot.com
