Exch 2007 beta 2 Clustered mailbox install failure
Man, its taken me quite a bit just to get to this point. Anyways, new domain in its own subnet. All Windows 2003 x64 w/ all critical updates. I am attempting to install the clustered mailbox server, and upon installing the first active node, I get the following error: Clustered Mailbox ServerFailed Error:Property IsMailboxServer cannot be set on this object because it requires object to have version 0.1 (8.0.535.0) or later. Current object verison is 0.0 (6.5.6500.0). Did I miss something? Im pretty sure I installed all the Ex2k7 required extra patches and hotfixes...

In MSH, please run "get-exchangeserver" and check to see if there are any Servers returned without any Exchange Role associated with them. If so, you can delete those Server objects from the AD (using ldap for example). The Server DN should be something like: 'CN=GC-PXBAPK-DOM,CN=Servers,CN=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT),CN=Administrative Groups,CN=First Organization,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=PXBAPK-dom,DC=extest,DC=microsoft,DC=com' In addition, ensure that you have not specified the Cluster network name as your Clustered Mailbox Server name - this is usually what causes the error you're seeing. Hope this helps!

Thanks for your response. Unfortunatley I had uninstalled anticipating (another) re-install, so I was unable to run MSH. However, each time I did a reinstall I have been using ADSI and removing the Exchange stuff. Anyways, this time around the install seemed to work fine. I am happy but I wish I knew why to assist in troubleshooting the beta, I apologize. I didnt do anything different than the previous install, so maybe 2nd time is a charm?
