I am installing Exch 2010 on Win2008 R2 in a Win2003 domain. The install goes fine until I come to a screen called "Mail Flow Settings." This screen insists that I enter an Exch 2003 legacy server for mail flow puposes. That woud be fine but there is not a another Exch server in the domain, 2003 or any other. This install is the first and only Exch server in the domain. How do I get around this?

Was Exchange 2003 installed at one time in this forest? Setup thinks it still is.

Now that you mention it I think I did install Exch 2003 over a year ago. I uninstalled it shortly thereafter. How do I tell 2010 to just ignoe it and keep going?

There must be remnants of the 2003 installation left in AD. If you look in the configuration container via adsiedit, you'll probably find them.

You were right there were some Exchange entries in AD. Now I will move on to the next set of problems- thanks.
