Exchaneg 2007 question about SMTP
Hello all. Heres the question I got. I have a @domain.com email address which is the default SMTP address for our Exchange 2007 Org. Our ERP system has the ability to send out emails and it hits a SMTP server to send the email out. Well we have Business partners now that have a email address of @partner.com. It appears that the Exchange 2007 SMTP is more strict then the old SMTP weare using. It appears that it isnt accepting those emails because the FROM is not in the org. Does anyone know how I can get around this is have the SMTP accept my business partners "From" Address. I hope I explained it ok.. :)so to sum it up. The Business partner logs into our ERP System and when they send email using our smtp, it seems to reject the emails because I am using their REAL Email address (@partner.com) so when they send email.... the recipient will see their address as the from instead of some generic email address.

Sounds like you want to allow their app to relay off of Exchange:http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2006/12/28/432013.aspxAllowing application servers to relay off Exchange Server 2007

Another option would be to have the ERP system authenticate with Exchange: Create a mailbox-enabled account and configure the application accordingly. That's how we solved an issue with mail ending up in the Junk E-Mail folder in Outlook.Jon-Alfred Smith MCTS: Messaging | MCSE: S+M
