Exchange/Outlook Replies are Messed up
I have an exchange 2003 server and outlook 2003 clients. Recently I have encountered the following: I send a user an email. When they reply, the reply comes back in 2 colums. It is as if you formatted a word document to have 2 columns instead of a single normal page. I think the problem is on the server side, because it seems to be affecting most or all of my users. It started all of a sudden and for no apparent reason, and I have no clue where to begin to look to fix it. Can someone help? Bill

All your users sending the mail or receiving it? That is, are all these messages being sent by the same person? This sounds like an Outlook formatting setting, since Outlook uses Word components. -- Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems." . If i sent you an email, and you replied to me, the original email is fine, and the reply is two columns. I am inclined to agree with you about outlook, but the fact that this happened suddenly after years of use, to so many users, and with no apparent configuration changes, It made me turn to the exchange server. We do use a signature that is created with the ADVANCED setting in the signature utility which as you know creates an html document. but again we have been using this signature for quite a long time with no issues. I'm stumped, so i am looking for some things to try. Bill

Since my last post, i went in and turned off the signatures, and the problem seems to have gone away. so it is outlook and related to the signatures. do you have any suggestions on how to fix it, or what other foreum i might try to find an answer? Bill

Hi Bill, Do you apply any updates for outlook 2003 or exchange before the problem happens? Have you tried reinstalingl outlook? If it's possiable, I recommend you upgrade Outlook 2003 to Outlolok 2007. In Outlook 2007 or higger version, you can insert images to your signtures directlly. The html document is no longer needed.
