Exchange2007 event id: 7008, source: MSExchangeTransportLogSearch
We are testing an exchange 2007 CCR environment where the two domain controllers are the clustered mailbox servers with a hub transport/client access server running the Majority Node Set. On the domain controller/mailbox server that is NOT active, I receive the 7008 warning event from MSExchangeTransportLogSearch every ten minutes stating the following:
Failed to refresh configuration data from the Active Directory. The Microsoft Exchange Transport Log Search Service will continue to provide search functionality for logs in the last known Transport log directory paths. The service will automatically attempt to refresh the configuration later.
The corresponding warning event on the Active AD/mailbox server states:
The description for Event ID ( 7008 ) in Source ( MSExchangeTransportLogSearch ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: .
