Exchange 03, IIS and an iphone
Right, A few of the bosses want iphones (having seen mine). The main point they want ius setting up the activesync with the exchange server. So far the settings on the iphone point to our mailserver and all validate fine. However it is not showing any mail on the phone. The mobile sevices are started and set up in the echange manager, the active directory users all have mobile services enabled, but yet nothing is coming through.I have heard there could be some setting in the IIS that need setting up (we do have outlook web access that works fine), just the iphone issues. Is there any advice on how to get these running?

Hi Doug, Please test the issue by using a Windows Mobile device. Does it work? Please also run Exchange Remote Connectivity Analyzer https://www.testexchangeconnectivity.com/ to do an ActiveSync test, and see it it works. Thanks, Elvis

No doesnt work on a windows mobile device, however I run the same version of exchange at home, and the iphone connects no problem to it at all, I dont really fancy running through all the settings comparing them but I swear it's something in IIS that im missing, as the exchange is definately set up right and so is the active directory...

You may be missing required intermediate certificates, See KB 927465 for more details. You're using a self-issued certificate from you own CA. Have youinstalled the root certificate from your CA on the iPhone as a trustedroot certificate? The issuer of your certificate is:CN = CertDC = hctl2003DC = localIf you plan on using EAS you're really much better off using a certfrom a public CA that's likely to have its certificates alreadyinstalled on the mobile devices. The cost is relatively small comparedto the cost of handling the additional support calls when things don'twork.---Rich MatheisenMCSE+I, Exchange MVP --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP
