Exchange 07, AD authentication with Outlook 2007
I am a new E-mail administrator and I need some help.I have built a test 07 exchange environment connected to a fully functioning AD environment. I have been asked to make it so that when users log in with their AD user account and open outlook 2007 they are automatically logged into their profile without entering in any additional information. We have a lot of roaming users within our domain and the higher up's would like it if their users had very little to do to get into their e-mail accounts. Is this kind of thing possible, is it a roaming profile, an auto-detect or something? If so is it a script in the EMS or a basic GUI option in the EMC?

If you have Exchange 2007 environment with Outlook 2007 then Autodiscover service configures the outlook profile automatically for any user.Overview of the Autodiscover Service http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124251.aspxConfigure Exchange services for the Autodiscover with the help of below article. How to Configure Exchange Services for the Autodiscover

Hi,Of course, that is the basic feature for Outlook 2007.If Outlook is running on a computer that is joined to a domain, Outlook can automatically discover the users e-mail address. Outlook looks up the Active Directory contact object for the user who is logged in, then extracts the primary SMTP address and passwordautomatically.ThanksAllen

That is exactly what i want but how do i configure that? It seems as though Outlook is looking to the local machine for the user information because when logged into a different account on the local machine it associates Outlook to the logged in user fine but it makes the user go through the initial setup which is what i don't want.

Isn't the Autodiscover feature for the external users and not the internal? From everything i have read it seems as though the Autodiscover is utilized through the Outlook Anywhere for the external users so they do not need VPN access.

Hi,For your first question, did you mean the initial configuration UI always will be presented when first loginning into a different new account? If that is your meaning, please understand that is by design and which is related to the Windows account but not Exchange issue.ThanksAllen
