Exchange 2000 - 2007 Coexistence Routing issue.
I recently installed Exchange 2007 into my existing Exchange 2000 environment. I moved a mailbox from 2000 to 2007 with no problems. However, when I try to send mail with the user that resides in the 2007 database, the messages get stuck in the queue with the error: There is currently no route to the mailbox database. In my application event logs I have the following errors/warnings: ID 5020 MSExchangeTransport - The topology doesn't contain a route to Exchange 2000 Server ID 5006 MSExchangeTransport - Cannot find route to Mailbox Server ID 5015 MSExchangeTransport - Microsoft Exchange cannot find a route to the source transport server or home MTA server ID 5016 MSExchangeTransport - The Active Directory topology service could not discover any route to connector Apparently I am missing a router. However, I am unable to find documentation on how to setup this route. Can someone assist me with this? We currently use Exchange for intercompany email only. For external email, we relay through our IPS's mail server.

Problem solved. I founda post on the General Discussion that showed the New-RoutingGroupConnector cmdlet. I ran the command: New-RoutingGroupConnector -Name "Mail Connection" -SourceTransportServers "server2007.mydomain" -TargetTransportServers "server2000.mydomain" -Cost 1 -BiDirectional $true -PublicFolderReferralsEnabled $true and the mail began to flow.

That worked for me. For some reason when doing the installation of my Exchange 2007 server the connector did not get created. Once the connector was in place Mail and PF Replicas began to work.
