I am replacing my exchange 2000 server with a new 2007 server. I have the new 2007 server installed and operational and have moved a few test mailboxes to the new server. Of course the new server is installed with a differnet IP and name from my existing operational 2000 server in my AD. Question is once I move all the mailboxes over to the new server can I just shutdown the 2000 box and rename and reIP the 2007 box with the 2000 values and bring it back online or do I have to go thru new MX records and DNS updates?
