Exchange 2003 (SBS) Public Folders NDR
I have a mail enabled public folder in Exchange 2003 SP2 on a Small Business Server 2003 with SP2.
We have a user who works 4 hours per day as an administrative assistant for the CEO. Her mailbox has received messages about changes to scheduled meetings after she had left for the day. The boss wanted to be able to see these messages
separately so I setup a mail enabled public folder and have all inbound mail to the admin. assistant forwarded to the public folder. The messages are also delivered to her mailbox. I have tested this by sending messages from within the organization
and from the outside, the and the messages get delivered to the both the mailbox and the public folder.
My problem is with 1 internal user. Whenever this user sends to the admin. assistant she receives an NDR. I have tracked the messages using ESM and it's the forwarding to the public folder that generates the NDR. The messages arrive in
the users mailbox but are not delivered to the public folder. Is there a setting in Active Directory or Exchange for the sender to stop these NDR's? Feels like there's a check box or radio button that should fix this...
Thank you

What does the NDR say?
Remember that internal users are not anonymous, so it is easy to get permissions wrong. To be able to send email to a folder internal users must have at least Contributor permission on the folder.
