Exchange 2003 - How do I find the external host name for this mail server?

Hi guys, I'm hoping there is an easy answer for this one but I just cannot seem to find it anywhere.

We have a Server 03 box running Exchange 03 sitting on our network. We have recently changed web hosts and in the process they have made the necessary DNS changes as is to be expected.

What I need to do is provide them with the external host name of our mail server but I simply do not know how to find it in any version prior to 2007.

Any ideas?

Hi,
Exchange 2007 was the first version where we specified names to be used for access.
In Exchange 2003 there is no such thing, but if you allow external access to the server (OWA, RPC over HTTP, ActiveSync) ...check the name(s) on your certificate.

Right, that would explain why I couldn't find where it was stored! Thanks Martina.

This now presents an entire different issue in that I don't know where find this information either... I have had little to do with this side of things in the past and I almost never been in an environment running Server '03.

Not a great day for me all round :(

EDIT: Ok, so this server does not appear to have certificates since the service is not even installed... If Exchange doesn't specify a name and there are no certificate names to refer to then I have no idea what name the MX records need to be pointing to.

Did you really check the computers personal certificate store?

MMC | Add/Remove Snap-In | Certificate: Computer account.
Then check if the server has a certificate in the Perso
