Exchange 2003 AD Tabs
I'm feeling a little stupid here as a very simple situation is causing me many problems! We are demoting our Exchange server from being a DC. That isn't the problem. The problem arises when I remembered that the extra Exchange related tabs in AD U&C aren't on the other two DCs.How do I add them to the other domain controllers? The info I have managed to find so far has been a little ambiguous, and I'm starting to tear my hair out!Any help would be gratefully received.

RMCMC, Run the Exchange Server Setup from the install CD/DVD on the other DCs and install the Microsoft Exchange System Management Tools. You can also install these tools on a workstation running XP: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/821920/en-us. Jason

Demoting an Already running Exchange server that is a DC is not supported. I thought I would mention it in case you ever need to call for support. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822179/en-us "You can run Exchange Server 2003 on either a member server or on a domain controller. After you install Exchange Server 2003 on a server, do not change the role of the server. For example, if you install Exchange Server 2003 on a member server, do not use the Dcpromo tool to promote the server to a domain controller. Or, if you install Exchange Server 2003 on a domain controller, do not use the Dcpromo tool to demote the server to a member server. Changing the role of a server after you install Exchange Server 2003 may result in loss of some Exchange functionality and is not supported

The DLLs for the Exchange tabs will not show up unless you install the ESM and associated tools. However, this might do what you want: http://mostlyexchange.blogspot.com/2006/03/managing-mailboxes-in-aduc-without.html However, "move mailbox" will not work without the full ESM tools.
