I have exchange server 2003 enterprise and I use NTbackup for backing up exchange server. My question is
1)can i backup exchange server 2003 using ntbackup on the external usb hard drive ?
will I have problem in restoring it ?
2) Can I map a network drive and do the backup ?

Not a recommended way to do on a USB drive. Even if u map it as a network drive, not a very good idea. Best idea is on NAS on iSCSI or a SAN.Raj

Agree with Raj, i.e. can you do it, yes I have seen both done but its a terrible idea to use either IMHO because of the speed limitations and mapping a drive on the network will also saturate your network during the transfer. I would even be careful
on using a NAS device since that is connected to your main network as well, I would do iSCSI, SAN or Direct Connected StorageTroy Werelius
