Exchange 2003 Backup Strategy
Hi everyone,
We have an Exchange 2003 four node cluster (3A + 1Passive). We have been performing full backups nightly but the amount of data has been increasing and the backup team is concerned.
What are your thoughts on changing the backup strategy from nightly Full to Full one night and incremental the remaining six days. I understand restore times would be affected.

Hi Scarigc !
I think if you have issues with your backup space that you have to get backup full on weekends and incremental in weekdays.
It will be the best for you.

That should work, but I think it increases your risk somewhat.

I agree with Ed. If space is really a concern, consider doing a full on say Sundays & Wednesdays, and incrementals the other days. It saves space, but also allows for a faster restoration process.
