Exchange 2003 Default Global Address Book Class Missing
Trying to install Exchange 2010 in the environment, but the /adprep keeps failing saying that the Default Global Address Book already exists. When I use ADSIedit to look at the object, the object class is missing and I am unable to do anything. I get Access Denied or "The specified directory service attribute or value does not exist". I've also tried using DSACLS: DSACLS "CN=Default Global Address List,CN=All Global Address Lists,CN=Address Lists Container,CN=xxx,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=xxx,DC=local" /N /G “Authenticated Users”:SDRCWDWOWPRPCALO - it says the parameter is incorrect I've also tried following this article for someone that is having a similar issue. http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/exchangesvradmin/thread/f6270fda-1546-40f9-9551-d6f871b51fa6

In Ex2007 I also faced this issue when somehow admin user had deny permission on the D-GAL. I resolved it by logging into the server using other domain admin account, and then corrected the permission. So try to login to ur server using some other admin user and then u will be able to see the D-GAL and its class. Thanks for your help! I was able to overcome this by running adsiedit from a Win2008 DC and browsing the to the CN=Default Global Address List,CN=All Global Address Lists,CN=Address Lists Container,CN=xxx,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=xxx,DC=local, and then Security - Advanced and checking the include inheiritable permissions check box. I was not able to make this change from the Exchange 2003 server for whatever reason... anyhow, it is not installing successfully.
