I have been trying to re-install ESM on server 2003 SBS after hitting a dead end with an MMC error. Upon installing the ESM from the CD I get as far as regsvr32 /s exadmin.dll and the setup halts at this point. I have tried manually registering the exadmin.dll (error: failed return code was: 0xe06d7363) reviewing the dependencies through dependencywalker and even reinstalled Exchange. At present the Exchange server is not used on this network but was installed and in a non-working state when I began working on the server. I am at a dead end on this, I have exhaused all avenues and reviewed every post I can find to resolve the issue. The server does use tobit fax services.

Hi, I would like to confirm why you would like to reinstall ESM on SBS server. Do you receive any error message when trying to launch it? Is there any error log in Event Viewer? Novak Wu It turned out the reason regsvr32 -s exadmin.dll did not register is because of a dependency in mapi32.dll sitting in the system32 directory. This DLL was overwritten with the tobit faxware version of the DLL (as confirmed by the properties of the DLL). The resolution is to restore the mapi32.dll with one from another server.
