Exchange 2003 Email volume
Is there a way to find out how many emails have gone through my Exchange 2003 server in one month? Also the size of the emails.

Thank you for the reply. I did realize there were third party apps available. Was hoping to find a way to do this without purchasing anything additional.

There are TONS of third party products out there that will do this. Most of them have a generous evaluation period, if this is something that you need to do once. Exchange provides message tracking logs and protocol logs that track a lot of useful info, but Microsoft does not really provide too many interfaces for 'mining' this information. Of course, if you have "developer skills", you could dig in to these logs and produce your own reports.
I have also used Promodag's reports for Exchange. They are pretty cheap and work well for small to medium sized Exchange organizations. MessageStats is a bit pricey, but it is a cool piece of software.

Do you have message tracking turned on? You can pump those logs into a spreadsheet and get a pretty fair estimate on the amount so of messages and size coming and going.
