We're running an Exchange 2003 Enterprise Cluster (2-node, sharing SAN space for our mailbox store). Right now, we're using the typical 192.168.x.x IP scheme. There are plans to change the IP scheme to something else... We're looking for any help/suggestions/precautions so we can get the IP's changed and minimize breaking the server/clusters. If it were my cluster, I'd fight it :-) However, you should be fine keeping your same IP's for the heartbeat, but you'll need to take the whole cluster offline to re-ip the nodes and don't forget to re-ip the cluster and the network name cluster resource!

Hi Knightly, thanks for the response. We have 2 groups in the cluster, 1 for the Cluster Group and 1 for the Share SAN disk/mailstore.So each group has a Network Name that is dependent on their IP Address Resource... I think your right on the money. RE-IP the DB group if any machines access that IP that are not part of the cluster, so I"d re IP it to be safe.
