Exchange 2003 HTTP over RPC
I have set up my single (BE) Exchange 2003 server SP2 for HTTP over RPC. I have loaded the RTP Proxy, configured the System Manager, changed the registry ports, loaded the certificate, checked the IIS permissions, and then created a client profile. I accepted the certificate in IE on the client. When connecting, I continually get prompted for authentication credentials, and cannot get past this screen. Please help.

Is Outlook configured to use the same authentication method as your IIS VD (Basic, NTLM, etc.)? On the VD's "Directory Security" tab, click the "Edit" button in the Secure Communications section. Is "Ignore client certificates" selected? If not, select it. --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP

Outlook is configured to use Basic Authentication. Same as the VDs. The VDs are all set to accept Basic Authentication. "Ignore Client Certificates" is selected on all the VDs. For what it is worth, OWA is working without any issues on the same certificate. When connecting with Outlook, I eventually get a message saying "Microsoft Exchange is unavailable".

Have you tried this yet? Its diagnostics may help: https://testexchangeconnectivity.com/ --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP --- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP
