Exchange 2003 No mailbox after user creation
Ok this is my problem:I just started in this firm and didin't know much about their former servers in the domain. We have a Notes server and a Exchange server. Or they had, cause before i started the server harddrive, where Exchange was installed broke down... not bootable anymore (don't ask about the missing raid).Well they put in a new disk and installed Windows 2k3 server on it and used the old hardrive that couldn't boot as a secondary HD so they could restore old data from the information stores later on.I started the exchange installation today and in the beginning i got the question if this was the only exchange server in the domain and i answered yes. The installation went fine and all, but i have 2 problems now. In server Management, under servers i see the old server also, so it looks like we have 2 exchange servers. The stores on the old exchange installation is not mounted. When i create a new user in the AD and want to give him/her a mailbox, it dosn't create one. I checked the RUS and it was configurated to the old Server, so i changed it but i still dont' get mailboxes on new users. Can anyone hlep me (with a checklist or something) so i can figure out how many places i need to make changes or maybe a easy way to get out of this problem? The second problem is how to get the userdata from the old stores to the new one. Maybe even without mounting the stores, cause IIS is not installed on the old server now and its not so easy to restart that server.Any help would be appreciatedThanks in advanceHenrik

To restore your old server you need to do disaster recovery! This is not very straight forward if you don't have any Exchange knowledge... But you need to prepare and reinstall your old server with same computername and software and use setup /disasterrecovery http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124818.aspx If I was you I would contact a company with knowledge in Exchange recovery because without proper knowledge you won't be able to recover from this disaster Deli
