Exchange 2003 Recovery Mode
Hi:
We recently had to create a new Exchange 2003 mailbox database on SBS 2003 Standard. In doing so, we took the old database and put it into an RSG and merged all the mailboxes into the new database. Once that had completed, I removed the RSG from
the server, and mail is working fine.
End users using Outlook however continue to receive a warning that Exchange server is in recovery mode and asks them if they would like to connect to their temp mailbox, work offline or cancel. I tried renaming their OST and creating a new one, but
still get the same error.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

Did you copy the DB from the RSG back to the original location?Mark Morowczynski|MCT| MCSE 2003:Messaging, Security|MCITP:EMA 2K7,EDA Win 7,ES,SA,EA|MCTS:Windows Mobile Admin|Security+|http://almostdailytech.com

Please delete the old ost file or create a new outlook profile for user to test it.
When in
Exchange Recovery Mode, you have two options:
·
Offline mode. If you select
Work Offline, you can access the data in your old OST file, but not to the Exchange server. The old OST file is still accessible in offline mode.
Online mode.
If you select
Connect, you can access the Exchange server, but not to the old OST file. If you want to access data in the old OST file, you can exit Outlook and start again in
Offline mode.
