Exchange 2003 Universal distribution groups
I have a problem with members of a universal distribution group not receiving external email sent to the group. This problem ONLY applies to new members added to the group and ONLY with email sent from external sources. The group members added when the group was originally created receive all email without a problem but the two new members (not new to the domain) I added recently do not. All members of the group will receive email if it is sent from an internal machineThe server is set up with Windows 2003 server SP2, Exchange Server 2003 SP2 and all of our clients are using Outlook 2003. It is a single domain environment.Just to add to this I recently (yesterday) deleted and re-created the group to try and resolve this issue. Although I added the original four members and the two extra at the time of re-creating the group any email from external sources is still only delivered to the original 4 group members.

Hi,
I can only think that the group is working properly since it can deliver emails sent from internal to all it's members. I guess the problem is with the two accounts.
I would check if the two accounts are not restricted to receive emails "From authenticated users only". This attribute can be found on the user account in ADUC > Exchange General tab > Delivery restrictions

Hi Sorin,
Thanks for your response but I have checked out the accounts etc., already. Indeed one of the accounts that doesn't get the email is mine (added for test purposes) and I am set up as an enterpise administrator with no restrictions on anything at all. Thanks anywayTom
