Exchange 2003 keeps losing contact
Help needed
we currently have an exchange 2003 member server with two dc.Every so often the exchange 2003 server losses contact with the two domain controllers. I have added a topology event and can see when the exchange losses contact but there are no other errors apart from the exchange falling over and needing a reboot .
I have read on many forums that the only answer is a rebuild is that true any help appreciated

Hi,
There should be no need for a rebuild.
Is the exchange server configured to use a DNS server that knows about the domain controllers?
Have you tried to change the exchange servers network card?
Change the port the exchange server is connected to?
Can you ping a dc by name when teh problem occurs?

Hi,
Please try to run dcdiag and netdiag to check if any error would report there.
Besides, please select domain controller in Directory Access Tab from Exchange Server Management.
Organization Configuration > Configuration Domain Controller
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998227.aspx
Besides, please check event log and post the detail event information here.

Hi all
Thanks for your response, The problem occurs intermitantly,I have set a topology check on the server with says when it is ok that all domain controllers and global catalog servers are insite when all is ok.Then every so often it gives an error saying it has lost conectivity with one d.c it then tries to contact the other d.c unsuccesfully, then when i check the network conectivity it only sends packets but does not recieve them.If i then disable then re-enable the network connection then all is well again.I have run dcdiag and netdiag and all seems well.I have also set up the server in system manager.
