Exchange 2003 mail queue
I am working on a SBS 2003 server with exchange 2003. The problem is that the mail delivery is slow, sometimes hours before you recieve it. The problem is with receiving internal and external email. The system seemed to be working fine a month ago, but is now having issues. The mail queue has too many messages in it and most of them are in the DNS MESSAGES PENDING SUBMISSION and MESSAGES WAITING TO BE ROUTED.Please help I have been working on this for awhile. thanks

I have verified that the DNS settings are correct and the mail store is fine. I have turned on all the logging soI am waiting for log files to help me.

The event ID I keep getting is 7010 with the following information. This is an SMTP protocol log for virtual server ID 1, connection #1053. The client at "x.x.x.x" sent a "helo" command, and the SMTP server responded with "y.y.y.y Invalid Address ". The full command sent was "helo W0". This will probably cause the connection to fail. Can this server have a virus? A lot of the domains in the queue that it says we are sending to do not look like domains that look familiar and all the senders of the email say postmaster.

Now internal mail and outgoing mail are working fine. External mail is not getting in, but I can telnet to it on port 25. Any clues?
