Exchange 2003 named properties
Hi As per a previous post we are getting the Event ID 9667 on our Exchange 2003 SP2 server when some meeting requests are sent between Exchange 2010 and 2003. We are in the process of migrating users to the 2010 system but this will take some time as we are having niggly problems and have hundreds of users. So the two systems need to co-exist in the meantime. I know I have to follow the KB articles about increasing the named prop quota sizes but I'm having trouble determinig what is a "reasonable" value to input into the registry. The range value is listed as 1 - 07FFF but I would imagine I don't want to use the upper limit as this could cause the information store to become unresponsive ? I'd like to make this as high as possible but without risking "killing" the store. Would a number in the middle of the range be reasonable and, should we need to increase again, what value should we NOT go above ? I realise we shouldn't just keep increasing the values but we will need to do this for now. Thanks

Whats it at now?. Setting to 8192 for example would make sense if it 4096 now. You can move hundreds of users in one day. At the very minimum, I would move mailboxes from those stores that continue to have problems with named props.

Hi Sorry - should have mentioned. The event ID states the limit is 8192. I'm not sure which of the quotas this refers to. The full error when a 2010 user sends a meeting request to a 2003 user (using Outlook 2003) is: "Failed to create a new named property for database "First Storage Group\Mailbox Store (SERVERNAME)" because the number of named properties reached the quota limit (8192). User attempting to create the named property: "SYSTEM" Named property GUID: 11000e07-b51b-40d6-af21-caa85edab1d0 Named property name/id: "6" " The only quota listed in the registry is the "NonMAPI Named Props Quota" - which is 8192 Thanks

Ok, so maybe raise it to 10240? Obviously, getting those mailboxes moved is the best solution. You are in better shape than most, you have options. :) THere is also a new hotfix for 2003: http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2010/07/29/455687.aspx Confused About Named Properties Quotas in Exchange 2003 and Exchange 2007?
