Exchange 2003 server
Hi,
Is there any way to track incoming emails through exchange server 2003?
Basically an outside person has sent an email to the office but the staff says it never received! The sender also had received auto reply from the POP3 server. (Exchange download email from a external pop3 server).
I know I can track outgoing email through exchnage logs.
Thanks

Message tracking - if enabled is the only way. If it wasn't enabled then no, it isn't possible to know.
If you used Exchange as designed and had SMTP delivering email and logging enabled, then that would be another route.

Hi,
Yes, we can use messaging tracking tool if the email has reach the exchange server. Also we can use smtp log. Those methods should be implemented on Exchange Server.
Since we download email from POP3 server, then I recommend you to check with the POP3 server to see if it has recived the email.
Also please check the sender's doman name and then try to verify if the domain has been put into the blacklist.
Besides, I'd like to know what is the auto reply say, NDR? or other normal auto reply information. Please try to test if yo can send email to that outside person.

Actually I checked on the pop3 server & unfortunatly it keeps only 01 week of logs. It wass too late!
Sender received normal auto reply information not the NDR.
The sender doamin is gmail which is unlikely blacklisted isnt it?
After we got some emails from the sender.
Many Thanks for the information
