Exchange 2003 to 2007 AD
I currently have an Exchange 2003 Server that is a DC.It is NOT a Global Catalog server.I have another Win 2003 Enterprise server handling this. I bought a new server to install Exchange 2007 and migrate. The 2007 setup says I must remove the AD connector on the 2003 server before installation can proceed.I looked this up on MS website and they say to do a dcpromo, but that it's not supported.Has anyone else done this? What problems will I face?

Hi, It is not a dcpromo the installer is asking for! There must be something from your 5.5 to 2003 upgrade still present on the server. This is the ADC - you should be able to uninstall this without any problems if there are no more 5.5 servers in the org. Leif

How do I remove ONLY the ADC connector? I thought it was part of being a domain controller??? Thanks!

You can run the uninstall of the ADC from the domain controller or if that is not possible you can use ADSIEdit to remove the connector
