Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007 same server name
From my testing it looks like Entourage 2004 doesn't automatically reconfigure when a mailbox is moved from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007. So, how do I move from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007 without reconfiguring the clients? Some options that I have
thought of are to bring up a different Exchange 2007 machine on a different name and then copy over the mailboxes. Remove and shutdown the old server and then create a CAS network load balance array with the previous servers IP and create a DNS record
to that IP with the previous servers name. Will that work? Even with just one Exchange 2007 server? How about moving the mailboxes to a Exchange 2007 machine with a different name, then removing and shutting down the Exchange 2003 machine, then bring up another
Exchange 2007 machine with the same name as the previous Exchange 2003 machine and moving the mailboxes from the first 2007 to the second? Will that work?
or, can I just bring up the new Exchange 2007 server, move the mailboxes, shutdown the old server, change the DNS entry to point to the new server and add a netbios alias?

Understand this is only a problem for Entourage, as Outlook redirects just fine. Do you have many Entourage users? Perhaps if it's just a few, you could reconfigure them.
Also, understand there is no support for Entourage 2004 in Exchange 2010. So you might want to get your users on Entourage 2008 EWS or later.

500+ Entourage users. We are going to Exchange 2007 right now because there is no Entourage 2004 support in Exchange 2010 and no Entrourage 2008 EWS in Exchange 2003 so Exchange 2007 is a mid-step so that we can install Entourage 2008 EWS and have it work
and then upgrade to Exchange 2010 more seamlessly. Thanks,
