Can you Prepare AD from the new exchange server environment (MB1 or MB2) instead of preparing from the DC? The DC (2003 R2 32bit) is prexisting and I will be doing a coexistence between 2003 and 2010. The new environment is 64bit (I have 64bit media) and I receive an error on the DC, "The image file E:\Setup.com is valid, but is for a machine type other than the current machine." I googled the error and it stated that I need to use 32bit media. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for your time!

You can prep the forest from your Exchange box so long as you log onto that Exchange box as an account with Schema Admin rights.
