Exchange 2007: lost Active Directory information
Hello to everyone.
Please help me!
I have made a damage!
I have made a migration from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007: all was OK!
Then I have followed the procedure to remove the Exchange 2003 server from domain: I don't know what is happened, but now Information Store service of Exchange 2007 doesn't start!
I have checked the Active Directory Configuration with Adsi Edit and I have discovered that I have lost some information in "CN=Services,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Corporate,CN=Administrative Groups,CN=Exchange Administrative....,CN=Servers,CN=MailServer"... for example I haven't CN=Information Store.
I try to execute setup /prepareAD, but nothing happens.
Now I have only an idea: I install a new server with Exchange 2007, with the same name and the same settings... then I manually copy all the lost data in AdsiEdit... is it a good idea?
Please help me: I have only this night to solve this problem!
Thank you in advance for your support.

Hi,
You can't install a new server with the same name and the same settings (the old server is still there).
You don't have a backup of your active directory - it should be relatively safe to restore this if not too old.

Dear Leif,
thank you for your reply.
In this moment I have already installed a new domain controller in a new network with a new EX2007 server (with the same name and settings of the real one).
In your opinion I have some possibilities to repair my damage copy of the Active Directory configuration manually through Adsi Edit?
I hope... this is a very big problem for me.
Thank you for your support!
