Exchange 2007 5.6.1 Body type not supported by Remote Host
Hello, This morning I received this NDR: Name@recipientdomain.com # <# 5.6.1 smtp; 554 5.6.1 Body type not supported by Remote Host> # SMTP # So I did some research but I do not understand what I need to do. Here is my architecture, I'm in the final phase of a migration from Exchange 2003 to 2007 . I did the following command on my Exchange 2007 get-SendConnector Name | fl, I saw that ForceHELO is false, on several websites I read that this setting must be true. What does this setting impact to true or false? Thank you for your help DS

So you're getting this NDR on mail sent from your server or to your server? I suggest that this is likely not caused by Exchange but by a firewall that's "helping" you secure SMTP or by another server. Please provide a description of the message flow and what devices are in the path.Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

If this is the only domain bouncing your e-mail, then I propose that the problem is theirs. It looks like their mail is being hosted by Microsoft Online, as indicated by the address CMartin@sunbeltholding.microsoftonline.com. You might want to call Microsoft Online and see if they can tell you why they bounced your message.Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

Hi, Is this maybe a fake NDR? The postmaster of this NDR is postmaster@CSG-IT.NET, the email of the guy is CMartin@sunbeltholding.microsoftonline.com and cmartin@beveragedistr.com, I'm lost ;-) I received the NDR after this guy registered to our forum. DS

Actually, that combination of addresses is perfectly reasonable. In Microsoft Online, everyone gets an address of companyname.microsoftonline.com, and then comapnyname.com gets added when the customer validates the domain. (I've done several Microsoft Online migrations!) It certainly could be an NDR caused by spam with your domain's address being spoofed. If the sender didn't send anything to that address, then I'd just forget about it. Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."
