Exchange 2007 CCR
We had an Exchange 2007 cluster which stoppped working. A new cluster name was created. The old cluster name still appears in the Exchange management Console under mailboxes and in AD users & Computers.
Would there be an impact on Exchange if I were to remove the computer account? How can I correctly remove the old cluster name?

OK, So you had old CMS name and now have new one in function ?. If you have new CMS created and its working fine then you can remove old CMS object from AD. There is no any connection in both.
To use Setup.com to remove a CMS and the Mailbox role from the active node in a CCR environment running Exchange 2007
SP1 :
Setup.com /mode:uninstall /removeCMS /CMSName:<CMSName>

Anil is right or you can use ADSIEDIT.MSC to remove the CMS info.

You will able to run recover CMS only if the Nodes are available.
If the nodes are removed and only the CMS is present we need to remove that from ADSIEDIT.
Removing the CMS from ADSIEDIT should not cause any issues with the existing Exchange servers.

Yes that's correct we now have a new CMS using the two servers previously used. I just wanted to confirm removing the old cms object would not cause
any issues. Thank you very much for your help.
