Exchange 2007 Console/Powershell can't find domain controller
Hello I've installed the Exchange Management Tools on a 2nd machine so I can run PST exports for a server move. When I first install the tools it connects fine and randomly it has connected fine, however 90% of the time it won't connect to the domain controller. It gives me the following error: Exception Setting "View Entire Forest": Could not find any domain controller in domain <domain>. At C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\bin\Exchange.ps1:19 char:32. + $global:AdminSessionADSettings.V <<<< iewEntireForest = $false Can anyone help on this, like I said it doesn't happen everytime. I've made sure firewalls (it had AVG on it) have been removed. The exchange server itself is operating fine and the tools on the Exchange box (which is also the AD box) are fine. It is this remote connection that is failing.

Have you specified a specific DC for MMC or is it default? Could you run DCDiag from the computer that has MMC installed while this issue occurs......& share the result please.Regards, Pushkal MishrA

Hi, First, please assure System Attendant service is started successfully. Also, please refer to the following article to troubleshoot the issue. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb218301(EXCHG.80).aspx If the issue persists, please run NetDiag and check Event log. thanks a lot for the help, all the services and the diags show it is okay, however the domain is definitely problematic, we've now got PCs that suddenly say they don't know where the domain controller is. Luckily we're moving them to a new system this weekend, so this thread can be closed off as we've managed to get it working enough to get what we need.
