Exchange 2007 DNS
We have Exchange 2007 and our ISP changed our IP address so I need to change our mail server to reflect this. Please could someone point me in the right direction? Many thanks

You need to update the following:
1. Update your external DNS records to use the new IP. Log into your external DNS providers site if you don't know you can go to whois
http://www.networksolutions.com/whois/index.jsp enter your domain name.
You should see similar
Domain servers in listed order: Manage DNS
A.NS.MTGSY.COM
SCRANTON.NS.MTGSY.COM
DNS4.MTGSY.COM 213.133.201.68
DNS2.NAME-S.NET
You need to log into the DNS portals. Once logged in find every entry where you see the old IP and replace it with the new IP
2. Go to your firewall and update the NAT for your email services where you see the old external IP mapping to the internal IP of your exchange and replace it with the new external IP.

Is your server using a publically accessible IP address or is it using
a NATed address?
If you're using NAT then you need to change the IP address assigned to
your firewall/router. Then you need to change the IP address in your
external DNS for the "A" record that your "MX" record uses.

Thank you for the response.
We have three domains: doddslimited.co.uk, doddssolar.co.uk and the original doddsroofing.co.uk, I had account login details for the first two so I was able to log into the control panel and change the mail IP address to the new one. The original doddsroofing.co.uk returned
the following
Registrar:
Sitewizard Limited [Tag = ANET]
URL:
http://www.sitewizard.co.uk.
Relevant dates:
Registered on: 14-Sep-1999
Expiry date: 14-Sep-2013
Last updated: 14-Nov-2011
Registration status:
Registered until expiry date.
Name servers:
ns1.hostingwizard.co.uk 79.170.40.2
ns2.hostingwizard.co.uk 79.170.43.3
but I have no details for logging into the sitewizard account. Sorry to sound stupid but I have just recently becomed involved in this and I am not to familiar with Exchange.

That's not anything to do with Exchange, it's the registrar for your
domain. If you don't know the account/password you'll have to convince
them of your identity before they'll change the password. Their
contact information is at the bottom of the site's URL (above).
