Hi, You can run the following command on the mailbox if you would like to disable the feature: Set-mailboxcalendarsettings mailbox automateprocessing none Nevertheless, please understand that it is not suggested. Would you please let me know why you need to add the organizeras an attendee? Mike

Hi Mike, Thanks for your response. We are using a public folder as a data store for an application that calendars docket activities for law firms. When the user creates a new activity it adds them to the attendee so that it will send a meeting request to their inbox so we can process it.Interestingly enough this hasn't come up as an issue until the last couple weeks i don't know if an update changed something of we just have people noticing it now. What are the adverse effects of disabling this feature in exchange? Thanks Michael

Hi Michael, Please understand that in earlier versions of Exchange, meeting message processing is performed by the Outlook Sniffer. The main issue with using the Sniffer to process meeting requestes and updates is that it is a client-side process. This means that it only runs when an Outlook client is logged on and idle. An example of where the client-side processing of scheduling can be seen if you are out of the office for an extended period and do not leave a client logged on to your mailbox. In this situation, meeting organizer do not see their meeting requests as tentatively scheduled in your calendar. Different organizers can end up sending overlapping requests. In Exchange 2007, all meeting message processing for a regular mailbox is done by an Exchange assistant called the Calendar Assistant (Server Side process). The assistant is notified of meeting messages as they arrive in your mailbox. The assistant then retrieves the meeting message and make appropriate changes to your calendar (such as adding the meeting tentatively to your calendar). The command which I provided in the previous post is to disable Calendar Assistant on the problem mailbox. You can refer to following article regarding the explanation of the command and the switch: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa996340.aspx Mike
